The approach

The A1 Method

Our teaching philosophy, the step-by-step method, and exactly what parents can expect.

Once you master how to think like markers, you will finally understand how marks are allocated, what examiners are looking for, and how to structure your answers to get maximum marks.

The system

How We Build Understanding

We don't just do past papers and hope for the best. The A1 Method focuses on rebuilding the foundation systematically through 3 phases guided by a customized curriculum roadmap.

PHASE 01

Foundation Building

Students begin by pre-reading the lesson notes provided before class. Lessons start with short interactive Kahoot quizzes to assess understanding and identify conceptual gaps. Core concepts are then taught in a clear and intuitive manner through structured explanations and relatable analogies, even parents can understand. Finally, guided practice questions are completed to reinforce understanding and consolidate learning.

PHASE 02

Pattern Drilling

Once students have built a strong conceptual foundation, we systematically work through the full range of question types commonly tested in O-Level Chemistry using past-year papers. During this phase, students are encouraged to refer to their notes and work at their own pace. The focus is on building familiarity, recognising recurring question patterns, and developing confidence through repeated exposure — not exam conditioning.

PHASE 03

Exam Conditioning

Students will complete timed mock examinations under actual exam conditions to build confidence, composure, and familiarity with working under time pressure. Through intensive practice with past-year papers, the focus shifts towards making correct answering techniques automatic. Particular emphasis is placed on exam strategy, mark scheme requirements, precise answering structures, and eliminating the common mistakes that examiners repeatedly penalise each year.
